Clonakilty Distillery and Visitor Centre

Helical piles were installed through cut outs in the floor of an existing building which was being refurbished and renovated for the distillery The contract consisted of pile caps some with four piles and others with single piles. A static load test was performed to ensure there was not excessive deflection,the piles deflected 3mm at 100kn.Screwpiles were selected not only for their ability to carry the loads but also because they can be installed in areas with limited head height are vibration and noise free and do not produce bore spoil or grout waste

Montpelier Hill Dublin

Screwpile were contracted to place 76 piles to resist the overturning moment on a 3.5m high precast wall surrounding the new apartments at Montpelier Hill. The site criteria was to install the piles with speed,no vibration and minimal noise. Each pile cap had a pair of piles acting in tension and compression.

Piles were installed in four days.

Musgraves Tramore Road Cork

Screwpile were contracted by Colman Cotter Consulting Engineers to install piles under the testing unit for rigid trailers used by the Musgrave food distribution group. The piles were at the rear of the site close to the Tramore river valley which has a history of poor quality overburden. The piles achieved depths of 6-10m .PIles were installed in one day allowing the contractor to be unaffected by normal delays.imposed by cure times and were installed in approx 300mm of ground water.
